I believe healing is more than a personal project. It’s a return to the body, to the breath, to the truth of who we are beneath all the ways we’ve learned to survive.

I’m Jennifer McKeever (you may have met me as Prema), a somatic psychotherapist, trauma educator, and devoted guide for those ready to meet themselves more honestly, more deeply, and more compassionately.
My work lives at the intersection of science and soul. It’s rooted in nervous system wisdom, shaped by over two decades of clinical experience, and fueled by a fierce love for the human spirit’s capacity to heal.
But I didn’t arrive here because I had it all figured out. I arrived here because I needed these tools myself.
For years, I lived from a place of hyper-independence and overachievement. I was driven by fear, shame, and the belief that love had to be earned. It took me a long time to realize I wasn’t broken – I was deeply conditioned to disconnect.

Chronic pain and depression led me to Chinese Medicine, where I earned my first Master’s degree and spent over a decade in clinical practice. Those years taught me to listen not just to what people say, but to what their bodies hold. I came to understand how trauma lives in the nervous system, how the body speaks what the mind cannot, and how healing begins when we learn to attune with care and presence.

That deep listening eventually pulled me toward more integrative, somatic approaches. I went on to earn a second Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Spirituality, and trained with some of the world’s leading voices in trauma healing, embodiment, and transformational growth. And through it all, I’ve spent years in the fire of my own becoming.

What inspires me most is the possibility of awakening our fullest human potential. For me, that journey has included a deep spiritual seeking that’s taken me from the jungles of Peru to the ashrams of India, in a lifelong search to remember who I am beneath the pain, confusion, and conditioning. The teachings of Osho strongly shaped my inner journey and sparked my longing to live with greater truth and aliveness. I’m also a longtime student of the Diamond Approach, a path that has deeply influenced how I understand healing – not as the absence of pain, but as a return to the essential qualities that live within us all: presence, strength, compassion, joy, and truth.

I now live in Vancouver, BC with my husband Neil. We’ve been happily together for 12 years, which is something I once didn’t believe was possible for me. We continue to grow and explore life together, supporting each other through midlife (and beyond!). Neil is also a counsellor, so we sometimes co-facilitate groups, which is a uniquely nourishing part of my life and work.

Outside of trainings and retreats, you’ll find me on a walk with Neil, painting, daydreaming, or savoring a perfectly made cappuccino. These small, sacred moments keep me anchored in the same presence I invite others into.

Above all, what lights me up is witnessing people rediscover their aliveness. Not in spite of their pain, but because they’ve dared to meet it with presence and heart.

This work isn’t easy. But it is sacred.

And it’s my honor to walk alongside those who are ready to go deep.
